Obituary of Ruth Plummer

Bedford – Ruth Plummer, 87, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born January 19, 1934, in Laurel Co., KY, she was the daughter of Jesse and Pearl (Moore) Stailey. She married Kenneth M. Plummer, Jr. on December 22, 1952, and he preceded her in death on January 7, 2011. She was a homemaker and member of the Oolitic Baptist Church in Bedford. Survivors include a daughter, Lee Ann Plummer, of Bedford; a grandson, Jeremy Plummer, of Bedford; a great-grandson, Jesse Plummer, of Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Plummer, of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Ruthie Stailey, of Ft. Myers, FL; nieces and nephews, Fredi and Julie D’Alesio, Mike and Debbie Stailey, Trent Speer, Susan Speer-George, and David George. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Marty Plummer; a sister, Jeanne Speer, a brother, Lowell Stailey, and a brother-in-law, Fred Speer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 8th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Monday, November 8th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
