Indianapolis-Matthew Kenneth Hunter,28, of Cullman, AL passed away on Thursday October 7, 2021, at the I.U. Methodist Hospital.

Born February 11, 1993, in Bedford, IN he was the son of Brad S. Hunter and Jenny S. (Brooking) Bailey. He worked for Clayton Homes. Matthew was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and loved fishing and Alabama football.

Survivors include: his mother and stepfather, Jenny and Shelby Bailey of Tuscumbia, AL; his father and stepmother, Brad and Jami Hunter of Bedford; two stepbrothers: Andrew and Paul Bailey of Tuscumbia, AL; two half-brothers, Jackson and Levi Hunter of Bedford; maternal grandmother, Melinda Brooking of Bedford; two aunts: Polly Miller and husband Tommy of Brown County, IN, and Beth Hughes and husband Derek of Pekin; several cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Danny and Toni Hunter, maternal grandfather, Philip Brooking, and his uncle, Greg Hunter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm on Saturday, October 9th, 2021, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the hour of service on Saturday.
