Obituary of Raymond Elmer York

Bloomington – Raymond Elmer “Ray” York, 60, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:38 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his residence. Born November 14, 1960, in Bedford, he was the son of Ed and Katherine “Toots” (Groff) York. He married Deborah Holsapple on July 5, 2009, and she survives. He was a warehouse supervisor for CPI in Bloomington and one of the founders of the Soaring Angels Riding Club. He worked hard for his family, was a die-hard Colts Football fan, and was one of the most selfless people. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Deborah, of Bloomington; four children, Travis York (Kimberly), of Bloomington, D.C. York (Brittnay), of Bedford, Candy York (Quentin Moseley), of Newburgh, and Jacob York, of Bedford; two step-children, Shannon Troxel (Steve) and James Holsapple, all of Bloomington; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Frank Parsons, Rosemary Yother, Linda Ray, Debbie York Neely, Charlie York, Sissy York, Cecil York, Eddie York, David York, and Jerry York; several nieces and nephews; his dogs, Krisma, Sissy Pup, Phoebe Dawn, Lilly Rose and Little Bit. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Raymond York, Jr.; siblings, Connie York, Marsha Webb and Johnny York. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 12th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Lowder Cemetery.
