Obituary of David L. Sider

Bloomington-David L. Sider, 77, of Bloomington passed at 3:05 pm Saturday, July 31st at the IU Hospice House in Bloomington. Born June 21, 1944, in Duluth, Minnesota, he was the son of Melvin and Lorraine (Berglund) Sider. He was the loving husband of Barb Sider for 38 years, married on October 7, 1983. Early in life, David managed Charcoal Steakhouse and Sider’s Steakhouse. He went on to wholesale specialty coffee sales, where he won multiple awards and trips as a result of his sales. He enjoyed boating, auto racing, fast cars, and landscaping. Above all, he loved his family race parties. His favorite one liner was “two ducks walk into a bar.” He lived life to its fullest and never met a stranger. Special thanks to IU Hospice House in Bloomington and their wonderful staff. Survivors include his wife, Barb Sider of Bloomington; one daughter, Cotton Michelle Bolin and husband Ken, of Greenville; one son, William David Sider and wife Nancy Gallagher, of Westmont, IL; two step daughters, Natasha Maldonado and Kimberly Greenwell; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Ferguson and husband Robert, of Brown County. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial gathering will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, August 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to catshaven.org, 2603 N.
