Mooresville – Barbara J. Cobb, 88, passed away July 19, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Brenda, of McKinney, TX.

Born August 30, 1933, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of David and Margaret (Moore) Nikirk. She married Claude Cobb on August 31, 1950, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 2015. She worked twenty years as a human resources executive assistant for People’s Bank. She was a pastor’s wife of churches in Newark, Bedford, Battle Creek, MI, Springville, and Indianapolis. She served as a youth leader, Sunday School Teacher, choir director and PLA President. In her youth, she was proud to have never missed a day of school. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma.

Survivors include daughter, Brenda Cochran and husband, Sherrill, of McKinney, TX son, Denny Cobb and wife, Phylis, of Mountain Grove, MO; son, Benny Cobb and wife, Rene`, of Mooresville, IN; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Patty Johnson and husband, Chuck and Carolyn Nikirk, brothers, Reggie Nikirk and wife, Rebecca, Randy Nikirk and wife, Trena, all of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Susie Nikirk, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude, parents, David and Margaret Nikirk; brothers, Ronnie and Russell Nikirk and sister, Sue Brummett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Larry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery.
