Owensburg – Karen Jean Beasley, 67, of Owensburg, passed away at 11:56 pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her residence.


Born June 22, 1953 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Maxwell Gene and Shirley Maxine (Briner) Holmes. She retired from Indiana University as a kitchen aide. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Owensburg.


Survivors include two daughters, Kelly Marshall (Edward), of Bedford and Misty Flick (Shawn), of Owensburg; three grandchildren, Jacob Bell (Chey), Dakota Bell, and Aaron Flick; two great grandchildren, Kole and Gracelyn Bell; a sister, Rhonda Bell (Charlie), of Springville; a brother, Terry Holmes, of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Cathy George and Molly Ratliff.


Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, May 18th at Dishman Cemetery with Pastor Dave Self officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 18th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
