Nancy Jane George, 91, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital.

Born October 6, 1929 in Bedford, she was the daughter of William and Carrie (Ganaway) Wintersmith. She married Herbert Lee George in 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1999. She retired from General Motors in 1992 and had worked at Day & Carter Mortuary. She was a member of Tabernacle of Praise Church, former member of Tulip Street Christian Church in Mitchell, the United States Bowling Assoc. (USBA) and The Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survivors include two sons, William W. “W.W.” George and wife Carol, of Princeton and Steven L. George and wife, Mary, of Mitchell; a daughter, Suzanne D. White and husband, Gary, of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Clarence Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 till the hour of service at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
