Obituary of John L. Leahy
Bedford John L. Leahy, 88, 2105 O Street, Bedford, died at 2:30 am on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born March 29, 1919, in Bedford, he was the son of William H. and Mabel (Sharpe) Leahy. He married Lillian Zipf on September 28, 1944 and she survives. He was the owner and operator of J & L Supply in Bedford. He was a life member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion, the Bedford Elks Lodge and the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army.
Surviving with his wife, Lillian of Bedford is one son, John E. Leahy and his wife, Phyllis of Carmel, IN; one daughter, Paula Leahy Harris and her husband, William M. Harris of Monarch Beach, CA; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Reasoner and her husband, Thomas, Kristen Leahy, Eric C. Pearson and his wife, Eryn, Nicole Harris, Morgan Harris, Andraya Harris, Sawyer Harris; three great grandchildren, Jake Reasoner, Zachary Reasoner, Cole Reasoner; one sister, Ruth Hodowansky and her husband, Michael of Hudson, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Julie Leahy; three brothers, Herschel, Robert and George Leahy; two sisters, Audrey Dillon and Mary Ellen Southern. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, July 16th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford with Father John Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
