Obituary of Kenneth L. Ford

Tampa, FL – Kenneth L. Ford, 91, of Tampa, FL, formerly of Heltonville, IN, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 in Florida. Born October 11, 1929 in Heltonville, he was the son of Opal and Mary (Stafford) Ford. He married Marian Myers on October 11, 1953 and she preceded him in death on July 10, 1989. He retired as a mechanic for General Motors after 28 ½ years and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Heltonville Christian Church and Leesville Masonic Lodge. Survivors include two sons, Ken Ford, Jr., of Bedford and Douglas Ford, of Tampa, FL; a daughter, Elizabeth Fleetwood, of Heltonville; three grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Ford, Charity Cicak and husband Toby, and Heather Bamford and husband Paul; three great grandchildren, Alina Ford, Jacob Cicak, and Makenna George; a brother, Paul Ford and wife Patty of Heltonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, William Glenn Ford; a grandson; Jeremy George; two brothers, Robert Ford, and William Ford; two sisters, Joanne Kirkman and Jane Mundy. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Jon Lineback officiating. Masonic Services will be conducted prior to the funeral service by the Bedford Masonic Lodge # 14 F & AM. Burial will follow in Gilgal Cemetery, graveside military rites will be accorded by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Heltonville Heritage Fund through the Lawrence County Community Foundation.
