Obituary of Doris C. (Blackburn) Fountain

Doris C. (Blackburn) Fountain, 94, of Bedford died at 2:32pm on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born March 19, 1926 in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Cyrus and Mabel (Fortner) Blackburn. She married John W. Fountain on November 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2010. She was a homemaker and a member of the Leatherwood Christian Church. Doris was also a co-owner of the Dairy Barn Ice Cream Shop in Bedford. Survivors includer two sons: John W. Fountain, II and his wife, Debbie of Paoli, and Jerry Lee Blackburn Fountain and his wife, June of Bedford; a daughter, Susan Gayle Cessna and her husband James of Mitchell; five grandchildren, Heather Cessna Stigall & Jeremy of Bedford, Erin Fountain of Orleans, Paul Fountain & Janice of Bedford, Bryan Fountain & Austin of Bedford, Lindsay Fountain Wilson & Ben of Ellettsville; six great grandchildren, Seth, Abigail, and Jase Fountain, Heather Haley Stigall, Caleb and Logan Wilson; two brothers, Russell Blackburn and Donald Blackburn both of Bedford, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John W. Fountain, and her sister, Ruth Emmert. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 6th, 2021 at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Pastor Sherman Thomas officiating. In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks and social distancing are required. Attendance is limited to 50 people at a time.
