Obituary of Charles F. Lawhead

Bedford Charles F. Lawhead, 84, of Bedford, died at 4:35 am on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born January 30, 1926 in Bedford, he was the son of Edward and Bessie (Ducommon) Lawhead. He married Norma Allen Norman on February 12, 1996 and she survives. He retired from NWSC CRANE and was a school bus driver. He was a life-time member of the Elks Club and a veteran of WW II and the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army and Navy. Surviving with his wife, Norma, is one sister, Nova Parish of New Albany; five step-children; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 16th at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Pastor James Stevens officiating. Entombment will follow. Friends may call from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm on Friday, April 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
