I cried a little when Brenda told me that Mamaw was gone, but I still remembered that a few years ago, on the way home from Bible Study that she said,"I don't know why we have to stay so long after we're ready to go..."I will love and miss you everyday, Mamaw!

So many great memories I have as young girl hanging out at my Aunt Kathleen's. One of my favorite is listening to the conversations the women had while they were canning, drinking coffee and talking about clothes patterns. Always loved visiting and running to her fence to smell and eat the honeysuckles. Kathleen was always so kind and will be missed. My prayers and love are with all the family.

The world has lost one of its brightest rays of sunshine! Always smiling, always loving. As youngsters, everyone in our Logan neighborhood gathered with the Smith kids on Kate's porch to talk, laugh and sing. Thanks, Kate, for helping make our childhood so much fun. The first time I remember meeting Kate was when Daddy took me with him to talk to Russell. It was the summer before Rita & I started first grade, & Kate brought me in the house to play with Rita while the men talked farming. A few weeks later during recess, Rita came up to me and said, “My mom told me to tell you I’m the little girl you played with when you came over with your dad.” Thanks to Kate’s prompting and Teddy Bartlett’s bus, Rita & I shared many conversations about our families through the years, & I fondly remember all the Smiths. My deepest condolences to all of you as you grieve this loss. May your many sweet family memories and your continuing family closeness bring comfort. Love to you all!
