Robert Joe Fish, Jr. Obituary
Robert Joe Fish, Jr, was one of a kind and everyone knew it but him. Born and raised in Bedford, Indiana, Bob was the son of Joe and Imogene. He had one sister Janie Westerfield, and two brothers, Rennie and Jason Fish. Mary was the love of his life and they spent 47 years in marriage. In the beginning of that time they had one daughter Amanda May and she is married to Chris May. They have two children Sydney and Carter.
Bob was the hardest working man and loyal to a fault. He dedicated 38 years to Miller Pipeline Corporation. You could always count on him to be honest, even when it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Bob taught everyone that he came into contact with what it meant to work for everything God gave you, and don't expect handouts. After high school he joined the National Guard, and was a member of the Masonic Temple. In the 80’s Bob enjoyed coaching at the Boy’s Club. He was a lifelong member at Mount Pleasant Christian Church.
In the end he was very fond of all the nursing staff at IU Health Bedford, and especially the oncology unit. The family insists in lieu of any type of gift or flowers, please make a donation in Bob’s memory to the Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services at: 219 Sycamore Drive, Bedford.
Per Bob’s wishes a private service for family will be held at Mount Pleasant Christian Church following his cremation. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
