Obituary of Gary Dean Fish

Oolitic – Gary Dean Fish, 68, of Oolitic, passed away at 11:44 am on Sunday, August 16, 2020 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Born April 5, 1952, in Bedford, he was the son of Donald and Barbara (Gerkin) Fish. He married Gloria “Gail” Nickless on April 17, 1999 and she survives. Gary retired from Architectural Stone. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his children and grandchildren and being outdoors. Survivors include his wife of twenty-one years, Gail Fish, of Oolitic; children, Mike (Lori) Fish, of Bedford, Joe (Cindy) Fish, of Avoca, Debbie (Donald) White, of Mitchell, Jason (Angy) Fish, of Bloomington, and Jake (Kelly) Fish, of Georgetown; step-children, Roger (Jody) Manning, Pam (Rick) Canada, all of Oolitic, and Kelly (Tim) Knight, of Lewisburg, KY; his mother, Barbara Fish; sisters, Pam (Lee) Colglazier, of Campbellsburg, Karen (Jim) Murname, of Oolitic, and Tracey Fish, of Bedford; brothers, Ronald Fish, of Bedford and Phillip Fish, of Texas; 29 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Fish, his grandparents, and step-son, Chris Manning. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Mike Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
