Obituary of Bonnie Kay Meadows

Bonnie Kay Meadows, 77, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her residence. Born December 17, 1942 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Rev. James R. and Mary A. (Staggs) Stevens. Bonnie married Dale Edward Meadows on August 24, 1959 and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1998. She was the owner and operator of Bonnie’s Flowers and Cake Shop and was a homemaker. Bonnie loved her family and singing and was a member of Stonebridge Community Church. Survivors include: two sons, Robert D. Meadows and wife Stephanie D. of Bedford, Christopher M. Meadows of Bedford, one daughter, Stacey A. (Sam) Meadows of Bedford, three grandchildren: Leslie D. McCracken and husband, Bryce of Bedford, Audrey M. Dorsett and husband, Evan of Bedford, Adam C. Meadows of Bedford, one step-grandchild, Justin D. Smith of Mitchell, three great grandchildren: Avery S. Dorsett, Norah E. Dorsett and Chloe K. McCracken, one step great grandchild: Madison G. Smith, two sisters: Connie Johnson and husband Willard of Bedford, and Sonja Wilson and husband Dave of Bedford and one brother: James Stevens II and wife Diane of Bedford, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Susan Kay Meadows. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Leyton Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the mortuary. Bonnie requested no flowers to be sent.
