Obituary of Mary Jonelle Brooking

Bedford – Mary Jonelle Brooking, 67, of Bedford, passed away at 12:50 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at her residence. Born November 12, 1952 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of John and Rowena Jean (McPike) Hackler. She married Paul R. Brooking on September 26, 1981 and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1995. She had been a nurse for 37 years and had been employed at Dunn Memorial Hospital, several nursing homes and Stonebelt ARC, Inc. Survivors include a son, Christopher R. Brooking, of Bedford; a step-son, Barry Brooking, of Mitchell; a step-daughter, Cindy Brooking, of Bedford; grandkids, Zak Brooking, of Bedford and Zaber Brooking, of Charlestown; a brother, John K. Hackler, of Oolitic; a sister, Jana Endicott, of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Michael Hackler. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dana Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery.
