Obituary of Mary Lou Hobson

Bedford – Mary Lou Hobson, 82, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born September 4, 1937 in French Lick, she was the daughter of Harvey and Nova (Atkins) Leonard. She married Charles H. Hobson on December 1, 1956 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2005. Mary Lou graduated from French Lick High School in 1955 and worked for Indiana Bell as a telephone operator. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary Lou was of the Christian faith and a member of the Beechwood Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Mike Hobson and wife, Shana, of Fayetteville; a daughter, Becky (Hobson) Flick and husband, Al, of Bedford; a granddaughter, Amber (Hobson) McIntyre and husband, Jeff, of Bedford; a grandson, Justin Hobson and wife, Tiffany, of Fayetteville; four great grandchildren, Kade and Kallie McIntyre, of Bedford and Kane and Kash Hobson, of Fayetteville; two nieces, Gari Kenworthy and husband, Joe, of Terre Haute and Lisa Drabing, of Texas; a nephew, Jack Grant Leonard, Jr., of Alabama; two step-sisters, Mickey Clements, of Bloomington and Linda Wells, of French Lick; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Leonard, of French Lick. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Leonard; her mother, Nova Walls; her step-father, Charles Walls; her husband, Charles Hobson; two brothers, Gary Max and Jack G. Leonard. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, July 3rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 2nd and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
