Obituary of Della M. Smith

Harrodsburg – Della M. Smith, 101, of Harrodsburg, passed away at 3:55 am on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at I.U. Health Hospice House. Born September 28, 1918 in Xenia, IL, she was the daughter of Delmer H and Charlottie M. (Leturno) Henson. She married Deward W. Smith and he preceded her in death. She had worked at Sarkes-Tarzian for twenty-five years and was a member of the Harrodsburg Assembly of God where she had attended since the age of sixteen. She loved gardening and animals, especially birds. She was a wonderful cook and had quite a reputation for her apple and cherry pies. Surviving is her grandson, Boyce Wesley Smith, of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Boyce Wade Smith; a grandson, Anthony Wayne Smith and three sisters, Claudine, Pauline, and Marie. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery.
