Obituary of Wilma Rife

Heltonville – Wilma Rife, 79, of Heltonville, passed away at 8:59 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born July 10, 1940 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Thomas and Freedona (Sowder) Scott. She married David “Sonny” Rife on July 20, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1999. She retired from General Motors and had attended the Bartlettsville Christian Church. Survivors include two grandsons, Jeff Rife, of Heltonville and David Rife and wife, Anna, of Bedford; two step-grandchildren, Logan and Sara Smith, of Heltonville; two sisters, Rhea Dawn Young and husband, Leroy, of Heltonville, and Jill Tuell, of Mitchell; a brother, Joe Scott and wife, Connie, of Heltonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Scott Rife and a daughter, Shelley Rife. Due to the mandates implemented as a response to COVID-19, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date with burial in the Bartlettsville Christian Cemetery.
