Obituary of James R. Cuddy

Zephyrhills, FL – James R. “Bucky” Cuddy, 95, of Florida, formerly of Bedford, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at his residence. Born August 5, 1924 in Oolitic, he was the son of Grover H. and Mayme E. (Brown) Cuddy. He married Vivian Pace on September 29, 1978 and she preceded in death on April 23, 2012. He had been a teacher in Indiana for over thirty years with the last 15 years spent in Indianapolis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served with the Old Flying Tigers for 3 ½ years. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a son, Michael David Cuddy, of Dade City, FL; one step-daughter, Connie Gorgas; two grandchildren, David Cuddy and Natalie Lang; four great grandchildren three step-grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Smith and Matthew McGee; one step-granddaughter, Jana McKee; several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vivian, a step-daughter, Janna Roman; a brother, Edward H. Cuddy; two sisters, Geneva Johnson and Margarete Sights. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
