I remember when our house burned down in East Oolitic back in 1975 and Gordon and Joyce took me in and treated me just like part of their family until Mom and Dad could get us another home and start over. Nicest people ever. I'm so very sorry for your loss

Gordon was best-man at our wedding in 1966. He apologized right away, because he said all couples that he stood with got divorced. Well, we broke his string of bad luck and stayed married until Howard’s death. The two guys shared jobs, the guard, and we used to play cards on the weekends, as though they didn’t see each other enough. And sadly, in the end they both shared the same terrible illness that took them from us.
Gordon left his touch on so many lives. He will be truly missed.

I remember when I first began my CNA classes. Gordon was the first man I seen rolling down the hall with a huge smile on his face. He always knew how to make you laugh, smile, and feel appreciated. He had one of the purest hearts I have ever met. He’s the type of man America was built on.
