Obituary of Larry L. Philpott

Bedford- Larry Lee Philpott, 64, of Bedford, passed away at 10:32 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020 at IU Health in Bloomington. Born February 28, 1955 in Bloomington, he was the son of Ottis Thomas and Vena Mae (Chambers) Philpott. Larry married Pamela Hilderbrand and she preceded him in death on April 18, 2010. He was a veteran, retiring from the National Guard. He also retired as a truck driver for R.L. Carter Trucking. Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Philpott of Seymour; a son, Lyndon Philpott and his wife Nicole, of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Jeremiah, Shalea, and Tonya Mitchell, and Wyatt, Aidan, and Juliana Philpott; one great-grandchild, Bentley Mitchell; one sister, Judy Philpott, of Bedford; four brothers, William Philpott and his wife Kathy, of Bedford, Denny Philpott and his wife Suzette, of Switz City, James Philpott and his wife Marilyn, of Poland, IN, Kenneth Philpott, of Mitchell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela; parents, Ottis and Vena; and a sister, Betty Grubb. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Aaron Swafford officiating. Burial will follow in Knightridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
