Obituary of Susan Bea Brodhecker

Bedford – Susan Bea Brodhecker, 59, of Bedford, and formerly of Columbus from 1961 to 1969, passed away peacefully in her sleep, anxious to see Jesus, and her Mother and Daddy, at 12:06 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at her home at Westview. Born October 16, 1960 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Curtis G. and Norma J. (Day) Brodhecker. She attended Garfield Elementary School in Columbus and was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School with the class of 1979. She had sold Avon and was very dedicated to her job at Fit For Life. Susan was a member of the United Christian Church in Paris Crossing, IN, where she was a member of the choir. She had attended the Assembly of God Church in Bedford, was a life-time member of the Ladies Auxilliary of V.F.W. and a member of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. She was well known for attending all the B.N.L. basketball and football games and was recognized by receiving a signed basketball and t-shirts. Go Stars! She had a special gift of predicting unborn babies’s sex and loved to dance. She was well known and loved by all. Susan paved the way for many firsts. Survivors include three sisters, Sondra Gilley and husband, Roger, of Columbus, Ellen Moutardier and husband, Rick, and Rebecca Nikirk and husband, Reggie, all of Bedford; two step-sisters, Connie and Bonnie Maxwell, of Indianapolis; two step-brothers, Greg and Barry Maxwell, of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; a special cousin and friend, Miriam Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-dad, Doyle “Hickory” Maxwell. Susan was well loved and very special to all of her family and they were all special to her. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Nephew and Pastor Damon Marling officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 24th and from 11:00 am until the service hour on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Special thanks to the Westview staff and special nurses for their love, care and support. She became a real blessing to the staff and made many friends.
