Obituary of Judith E. Robertson

Judith E. (Judy) Robertson of Oolitic, IN passed away at 9:10 p.m. on January 4th at Stonebridge Health Campus. She was the daughter of William M. Anderson and Violet Mae (Wagner) Anderson. She was born on Oct 28, 1937 in Bedford, IN. She Graduated from Needmore High School in 1956 where she was Vice President of her class. She married Henry (Hank) Robertson on October 7, 1956 and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Suzanne Tyler (Greg) of Windsor, CO and one son Brent Robertson (Elizabeth) of Evansville, IN; a sister Rosemary (Gary) Wray of Oolitic, Indiana; 4 Grandchildren, Brandon Robertson of Huntsville, AL, Brittany Riethmiller of Prairie du Sac, WI, Kaitlyn Tyler of Windsor, CO and Isabella Robertson of Evansville, IN; 7 Great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in the community. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry E. Anderson who died of Polio in 1952. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church for most of her life. She was active in several ministries and taught children’s Sunday School for many years. She also taught the Friendship Class for adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. For her work in that ministry she was honored as the Stonebelt’s Volunteer of the Year. She was employed throughout her career by the Lawrence County Clerk, Bedford National Bank, Sawyer Eye Care, JC Penney; but she was best known as the beloved Walmart greeter from 1993 to 2006. She was active in the community with 4-H, PTO, DAR, Kidney Foundation, Heart Fund, and many others. As area coordinator of South Central Indiana Kidney Foundation she assisted many transplant patients and raised funds throughout the area. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandma. She taught all her girls to Cook, Sew and make crafts and loved spending time with all children. She was also known by all for her wonderful cooking!! She delighted in preparing meals for others to enjoy and was an excellent host. It was said of her by her family “Mom cooks up a storm” and she wanted everyone to have plenty! Most importantly was her love for Jesus and how she showed that love to all and taught others how to love! She was a generous giving person who would do anything for anyone and will be missed by so many. A verse that she lived by was Matt. 25:40 ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors Rick Miller and Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
