Obituary of Carl Lavon Wade

Bedford – Carl Lavon Wade, 79, of Bedford, died on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the I.U. Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born November 5, 1939 in Martin County, he was the son of William S. and Marjorie (Payton) Wade.  He married Janice Haywood on May 30, 1958 and she preceded him in death.  Carl was retired from Sipes Auto Body Repair, and later worked at the Times Mail. Carl attended Williams High School. He enjoyed working on cars and loved his dog, Angel.

Survivors include his daughter, Jana Wade of Bedford, one sister, Barbara Morris and husband, Chester of Bedford, three nieces, Cheryl Concannon, Pam Melvin and Sandy Buckman, three nephews, David Morris, Jerry Wade and Leroy Wade; sister-in-law Lee Etta Collins and husband, Stanley.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Robert William Wade; two brothers, Paul Wade, and Kenneth Wade in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday October 15^th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm on Monday, October 14^th at Day & Carter Mortuary. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.
