Obituary of Georgia Lee Mitchell

Tallahassee, FL – Georgia Lee (Rainey) Mitchell, 86, of Tallahassee, FL, formerly of Plainfield and Greenwood, IN, died at 5:33 am on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her residence. Born June 29, 1933, in Bedford, she was the daughter of George Leroy and Zena Marigold (Slinkard) Rainey. She married James Richard Mitchell. She was a graduate of Shawswick High School and was a homemaker and leasing agent.

Survivors include a daughter, Lea Ann (Mitchell) Ledman; grandchildren, Lauren Marie (Hill) Drennan, Jared Michael Hill, Michael E. Ledman, Jr., Adam J. Ledman, and Derek A. Ledman; great-grandchildren, Lelia Averie Kate, Annabeth, Charlie, and Henry Drennan, Dakota and Ayla Noble-Ledman, Hannah, Guy, and Kylie Ledman; a sister, Ida Margaret (Mickey) (Rainey) McDonald; a sister-in-law, Sue (Newkirk) Rainey. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William Richard Mitchell; two sisters, Imogene Mae (Toots) (Rainey) Murphy and Della Rose (Rainey) Sproles; four brothers, Warren Dean Rainey, Joseph David Rainey, Lowell Thomas Rainey, and Roy James Rainey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 27^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Gilgal Cemetery.
