Obituary of Clarence R. Cain

Bedford – Clarence R. (Buster) Cain, 79, of Bedford, passed away at 2:40 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis with his family by his side.

Born December 10, 1939 in Bloomington, IN, he was the son of Clarence and Opal Jean (Swearingen) Cain. He married Brenda Southern on July 24, 1969 and she survives. He was a set-up man at Westinghouse/ABB. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda, of Bedford; their children, Angela Gilbert and husband, Steve, of Bedford, Ronald Cain and wife, Lora, of Mt. Airy, NC, Michael Cain of Mitchell, and Tami Downham, of Bedford; grandchildren, Brandon Hedrick, Jessica Snyder, Megan Berry, Kirsten Cain, Kelsey Downham, Ashley Kirkman, and Erin Kirkman; many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; four sisters, Brenda Mingee, of Avon, Debbie Hickman (Leo), of Bloomington, Nancy Hayes (Roy) of Bloomington, and Pat, of Palm Springs, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, August 16^th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 16^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Billy Brim officiating.
