Obituary of Ronnie I. Lloyd

Bedford- Ronnie I. Lloyd, 70, of Bedford, died at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington on Monday morning, June 24, 2019.


Born October 5, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of Clarence J. Lloyd and Helen (Blanton) Courter. He was a U.S. Army vet, a semi driver and a diesel mechanic. He married his soulmate of twenty-two years Lorna Blackwell on September 5, 2014 and she survives. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. Ronnie had a strong perseverance, with a heart of gold and always had a smile. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him.

He is survived by his wife Lorna, of Bedford; two daughters, Angela Neal and husband Mark and Heather Walker, all of Terre Haute; his step-children, Jeremy Blackwell, Jason Blackwell, and Benjamin Koch; three chosen children, Audrey Lloyd, Gracie Lloyd, and Jason Lloyd, all of Bedford; grandchildren, Tierra Mosier, Allison McCollum; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Alsup, Pat Donnell, Donna Powell, Ann Lloyd, Laquita Kirkman, Frances Incollingo, Sheila Barger and Edith Sleppy; brother Gary Lloyd; several nieces and nephews who were precious to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Holli Dominique; sister, Jenny Brown; brothers, Timothy Capps, Tommy Lloyd, and Raymond Lloyd; niece, Lisa Bunch.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors Lee Brown and Mark Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with military rites. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
