Obituary of Ralph Steve Stickles
Bedford – Ralph “Steve” Stickles, 68, of Bedford, died at 6:30 am on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at his residence.
Born August 24, 1950, in Bedford, he was the son of Ralph M. and Wilma (Vowell) Stickles. He married Phyllis “Pat” Tucker on August 24, 1978 and she survives. He retired from Visteon in 2008 and had previously worked at Indiana Limestone for seventeen years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Staff Sergeant. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, I.U. Basketball, and playing Euchre, Zonk, and Golf. He enjoyed fishing for Crappie and Bluegill and loved teaching his children and grandchildren the art of fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Bedford; a daughter, Christa (BJ) Fulkerson; two sons, Clint and his wife, Chanel, of Bloomington and Logan, of Bedford; grandchildren, Grace Fulkerson, Brooklynn Stickles, Gabe Fulkerson, and Beau Badger; sisters, Pam (Mike) Knight and Cheryl (Greg) Hubbard; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Karen Starr. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-fathers, Donald Murphy and Gary Gaiser; his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Roy Cummings.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 17th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Pat Arthur officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the hour of service on Monday, June 17th at the mortuary.
