Obituary of Ruth Ann Roberts

Seymour – Ruth Ann (Chase) Roberts, 76, of Seymour, formerly of Bloomington and the Buddha community, died Tuesday, June 04, 2019 at her residence in Seymour.

Born October 15, 1942 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Roy and Flavia (Bright) Chase. She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and Spencerian College. She married Gary L. Roberts on November 26, 1972 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1999. She was a retired receptionist and medical secretary. She had worked for Dr. Fountaine from 1962 to 1968, for Dr. Brad Bomba, Sr. from 1972 to 1995, and for Dr. Wenzler from 2000 to 2004. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Seymour. She enjoyed I.U. basketball games, reading, cross stitch and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a brother, Ronald Chase and wife, Nancy, of Seymour; a sister, Bonnie Case, of Mt. Washington, KY; a niece and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 22^nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kenny Dalton and Pastor Dan DeFriece officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, June 22^nd at the mortuary.  The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to L.I.F.E., Provisions of Jackson County in Seymour or Riley Hospital for Children.
