Obituary of Martha L. Hawkins

Bedford – Martha L. Hawkins, 82, of Bedford, died at 1:45 pm on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Paoli Health and Living Center.

Born January 17, 1937, she was the daughter of Perry E. and Georgia M (Bolding) Staggs. She married Richard Nicholson and he preceded her in death.  She was a retired custodial supervisor for the Monroe County School Corporation for thirty years.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Nicholson and Steven Nicholson; two brothers, Perry Lee Staggs and William (Bill) Staggs; a sister, Oneida Helms; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son, Robert Nicholson and a brother, Kenneth Staggs.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 24^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Perry East officiating. Burial will follow in the White River Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday, April 24^th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
