Obituary of Darlene Mae May

Bedford – Darlene Mae May, 77, of Bedford, died at 6:33 am on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born March 4, 1942 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Samual H. and Dorothy F. (Cummings) Hatfield. She married Marvel May on March 22, 1974 and he survives. She retired as an assembly line worker from RCA. She attended the Burgoon Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Marvel, of Bedford; children, Curtis E. Pruett, Sr. and wife, Ruby, of Bloomington, Cathy G. Godsey and husband, Ray, Randy S. Pruett and wife, Ann, all of Bedford, Tim J. Pruett and wife, Amber, of Bloomington; two step-sons, Brion May and wife, Mindy, Brent May and wife, Nikki, all of Fayetteville; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Darnell Holsapple and husband, Mike, of Williams, JoEllen Stevens and husband, Tom, of Oolitic, Gregory Hatfield, of Bedford, Rick Hatfield and wife, Gala, of Mitchell, and Jill Beaver, of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, April 12^th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Harold Godsey and Rev. Curtis Pruett officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 11^th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, April 12^th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
