Obituary of Jonathan Kirkman

ScottsburgJonathan Big John Kirkman, 55, of Scottsburg and formerly of Bedford, passed away at 10:45 P.M. Friday, December 22nd at the Scott Villa Nursing Home in Scottsburg. Born on January 29, 1951 in Bedford, he was the son of Vernie Kirkman and June (Thompson) Kirkman. He was a caregiver working for Rescare Group Home. Surviving is one daughter Angela Dawn Thorp and her husband Craig, of Bedford, IN; three grandchildren; Brett Myers, Briana Myers and Ashley Myers all of Bedford; one sister: Bonnie Mullinax and her husband, Don of Mitchell, IN; three brothers: James Kirkman of Guthrie, IN; Vernie Kirkman and his wife, Marsha, of Orleans, IN and Orvis Kirkman of Indianapolis, IN. His caregiver and niece, Cynthia Dalton of Bedford; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Alma Ruth in infancy. Funeral Information Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 27 from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Patton Hill Cemetery.
