Dear Duaine and Gregg, First, I would like to offer my condolences to you upon the passing of both your mother and father. They sound like wonderful people and loving parents. You don't know me; I live in Villa Park, Illinois. I frequently go to thrift stores and found a pair of wooden sandals. The sandals are a small size and have beautifully carved heels. On the bottom of one of the sandals is handwriting and it says: Phillipines . . . 1945-46? Dwight Taylor.
I looked up Dwight Taylor and discovered your father's obituary. But upon reading the obituary I noticed that he was in the US Army and stationed in the Phillipines. I have no idea how these sandals travelled to Glen Ellyn, IL (where the thrift store is located) but would love to re-unite these sandals with your family. If you would like to let me know your thoughts I would welcome hearing from you.
