Nick was my atty. for many years. Such a true gentleman, always a handshake and a smile when you went in for an appt. He was so good to me and my parents...probably didn't thank him enough for that. His wife Debra was the same and they complimented each other so well. I told him one day that they reminded me of Barbie and Ken, his face turned a little red but it was true...Beautiful Couple. I hired Nick as a lawyer one time and he a great lawyer which is very hard to find in a small town and stood up for and got me out of a hard spot in a hurry and even let me make payments to him until he was paid in full how many lawyers do you know that will let you do that? Where to begin.....Nick has been a leaning shoulder, voice of comfort and a true friend of mine and my entire family through the years. There has been many heartaches and triumphs together. I will truly miss his smile ~ it always made my sad days better.

Nick was a very private man and most of what I know about him I learned from Deb. My cases with Nick were in the 1990's and early 2000's where I remember him as being pleasant to work with, well prepared with a great smile. After they formed their partnership, Deb assumed the family law portion of the practice so my contact with Nick was limited. When I had occasion to be in their office, Nick was still pleasant with a great smile. However, I do recall that he also made a quick exit to his office where he would close his door for what I can only assume was his need for privacy and/or his need to escape the "chatter" of the women!!
Nick appeared to be most happy when it was just Nick and Deb and especially when they could travel to the horse track. Deb would talk of the fun they had as they traveled together and she too was most happy when it was just the two of them. I will be forever grateful to Nick for making Deb so happy and putting that big smile on her face when she talks about him.
My thoughts and prayers are with Deb as she travels alone on this next chapter of her life as she has just lost her husband, her best friend and her law partner.
