Obituary of George Edward Kirkman

Springville George Edward Kirkman, 82 of Springville, died at 6:30 am,Tuesday, June 08, 2010 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. He was born November 8, 1927 in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Clarence S. and Lelah (Lewis) Kirkman. He married Betty (Collins) Kirkman and she survives. He retired from General Motors and was a member of Avoca Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Betty, one son, Phillip Kirkman of St. Marys, Alaska, one daughter, Shari Ritchey of Terre Haute, IN, three grandchildren; Brittany Ritchey, Taylor Ritchey and Parker Ritchey all of Terre Haute, IN, one brother, Bill Kirkman and wife Grace of Bedford, one niece, Rita Kirkman of Bedford, one great niece Deanna Riggle of Bedford, one great nephew, Byron Goen of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 12, 2010 from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm 8:00 pm on Friday, June 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
