Obituary of Betty Kirkman

Terre Haute, IN Betty Kirkman, 84, of Terre Haute, formerly of Springville, died at 3:50 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Spring Hill Village in Terre Haute. Born December 1, 1928 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Clyde and Eva (Bush) Collins. She married George E. Kirkman and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2010. She was a teacher at Needmore Elementary School and a member of the Avoca Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Phillip Kirkman of Alaska; a daughter, Shari Ritchey of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Brittany Paris and husband, Jared of Indianapolis, Taylor and Parker Ritchey both of Terre Haute. a brother, Harrison Collins and wife, Pam of Mitchell; a niece, Rebecca Osborne and husband, Joe and their daughter, Mackenzie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Anna White. Funeral Information Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Jason Riggle officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
