Glen “Mac” McCleery

June 5, 1951-November 16, 2018

 

Brownstown-Glen “Mac” McCleery, 67, of Brownstown, passed away on November 16, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

 

Born on June 5, 1951 in Scottsburg, IN, he was the son of Lloyd McCleery and Lois (Stewart) Traveny. A retired welder from Crane NWSC and a Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy, he was also a member of the Dive Christian Church, the American Legion Gillen Post #33 and was a 1st Responder for the Shawswick Fire Department. He loved to sing, fellowship and never met a stranger. He married Deena Fluharty on May 27, 2011 and she survives.

 

Surviving with his wife, Deena of Brownstown, is his mother: Lois Traveny of Bedford; his children: Christy Chase and her husband, Jeff of Springville, Michael McCleery of Bedford, Amber McCleery and her significant other, Jason Gerkin of Orleans, Aaron Denniston of Brownstown; step children: Lisa Marsteiner and her significant other, Aaron Weaver of Bedford, Matthew Jeter of Bedford, Jamie Davis and her husband, Chris of Seymour, Katie Martin and her husband, T.J. of Brownstown and Ben Kleber and his wife, Katie of Seymour; his special friend: Stephanie Morron of Brownstown; his grandchildren: Maddie, Karsyn, Kailyn, Olivia, Shane, Louis, Nevaeh, Paisley, Cooper, Emilyn, Jackson, McKenzie, Dani, Braxton, and Huntyr; mother-in-law: Pat Fluharty of Seymour. His beloved pets: Corky and Annie. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother: Paul McCleery.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 21st from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with the American Legion Gillen Post #33 conducting military rites. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 21st at Day & Carter from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.
