Obituary of Oleta E. McCart

Bedford – Oleta E. McCart, (Mrs. Oleta), 86, of Bedford, died at 2:18 am on Thursday, November 01, 2018 at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born December 22, 1931, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Luther and Ruby (Flinn) Brown. She married Buddy Lee Stancombe and he preceded her in death. She married Dale McCart on July 9. 1988 and he preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and the Indiana Beauty College. She was the director for the House of James Beauty College for over twenty-five years. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church and their Merry Widows Club.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Stancombe and wife, Nancy,  and Greg Stancombe and wife, Julie, all of Bedford; a daughter, Laura Ragone and husband, Mike, of Pensacola, FL; eight grandchildren, Darren, Daniel, Derek, and Jessica Stancombe, Jennifer McLeod, Travis Ragone, Jared and Tyler Stancombe; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Brown, and wife, Cathy, Danny Brown and Terry Brown and wife, Sylvia, all of Bedford; a sister, Connie Scott and husband, Joe, of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Delpha Brown; a daughter-in-law, Donnette Stancombe. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, Clifton Stancombe; two brothers, Frank and Donnie Brown; a sister, Loretta Garrett, and a grandson, Jeffrey Scott Clampitt.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, November 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie McLain and Pastor Mike Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
