Bedford – Marjory A. Bailey, 89, of Bedford, died at 4:10pm on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the IU Hospice House in Bloomington surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 23, 1929 in Franklin, IN, she was the daughter of Warren and Lorraine (Dulin) Marlott. She married Bob Bailey on December 24, 1947 and he survives. Marge worked many years starting at the age of fourteen, popping corn at a movie theatre. She and Bob owned and operated the only restaurant in Heltonville for two years. She worked many years at Good Year and then was office manager at Dunn Hospital. She and Charlotte Mohr owned and operated the Well’s Shop. Marge and Bob also owned and operated Bo-Mar Beauty Supplies. She was a past member of Phi Beta Psi. She was a member of First Christian Church. Marge was never idle. She refinished furniture for her daughter, tole painted, and was known for her New, Old World Santas. She loved her husband and family whole heartedly. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, bragging to everyone of their achievements and sharing their antics.
Survivors include her husband, Bob of Bedford; one daughter, Beverly Bailey McFadden and husband Bill of Bedford; one grandson, John McFadden and wife Courtney of Bargersville; one granddaughter, Emily Compton and husband Barron of Floyds Knobs; four great-grandchildren, Reece Compton, Mia Compton, Cooper McFadden, and Lola McFadden; and several nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, John R. Marlott, William Marlott, and Philip “Whimpy” Marlott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, October 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Bruce Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary, and from 10:00am until the hour of service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to either First Christian Church or the IU Hospice House.
