Obituary of Joyce Sue Kirk

Joyce Sue Waggoner Kirk Joyce Kirk, 72, of 6615 St. Road 158, surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly, went to be with the Lord at 7:30 P.M. Friday, May 9th at White River Lodge in Bedford. Born on August 18, 1935 in Loogootee, IN she was daughter of Charles D. and Ethel E. (Hunt) Waggoner. She graduated from Shoals High School in 1953; worked at the Shoals High School, Super Eight Motel in Bedford and retired from Crane; A member of Psi Iota, Xi Sorority and an active member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church. She married Gene R. Kirk on July 2, 1955 and he survives. Surviving with her husband, Gene of Bedford, is one son: Justin D. Kirk and his wife, Marcia of Burleson, TX; one daughter: Jean Bartley and her husband, Randy of Oakland City, IN; Four granddaughters: Kalee Kirk, Jenell Bartley, Heather Oldendorf, Tasha King; one grandson Adam Bartley; three siblings: Wesley D. (Denny) Waggoner of Shoals; Janet (Jan) Waggoner of Bloomington and Alice Smith of Redlands, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Jane Kirk King; infant great grandson: Isiah King; infant siblings: Delbert and Mable Waggoner and sisters: Mary W. Allen and Melba Baker. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 13th from the Fayetteville Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Walden and Rev. Ken Bushie officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Shoals, IN. Friends may call on Monday, May 12th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary and on Tuesday, May 13th at the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
