Edith was an extraordinary woman who excelled at everything she tackled. Her intelligence & stamina were legendary. Together with 'Boots', her adored husband whom I never met, a home, a garden & a family was forged & nurtured. The old school work ethic, the celebration of humor & Edith's mythic skills in kitchen are the sources of countless stories I've heard from Bruce. His Dad's fantastic garden meshed with his Mom's skilled cooking were remarkable. They were an incredible team with a powerful focus on family & love.
I cherish the rewards of the many life skills that Edith (& Boots) instilled in their sons... every, single day that I enjoy with Bruce. 'Supermom' is my moniker for her. She was a force of nature, pure & simple! Her high-standards, natural competitiveness, hungry mind & sense of humor were always clothed in love. Thank you, Edith!5Pp

Mom was a natural comedienne, championship country cook and had my back at every turn. I could have been defeated so easily in my youth had it not been for her incredible strength & love. I'm the luckiest guy in the world! She was the supreme Supermom. I'll miss her forever. Bruce

Death always gives me pause and makes me ponder my love and respect for the person who leaves me behind. I want Brent, Gary and Linda, and Bruce to know that I am praying for their comfort as they grieve. Your mom has been a mentor for me. I have mourned her “long good-bye days” with you. So sad to know she was fading away from her youthful days. In her prime as my Aunt Edith, she enjoyed being a pretty, intelligent, and energetic woman. She lived and looked like the picture perfect woman of her generation. When I was a freshman in high school, Aunt Edith amazed me with her style and love of family life in Oolitic, Indiana. Her marriage and parenting relationships mirrored the teachings of her Christian church. I enjoyed her friendship with my parents, Charles and Hagar Anderson, and I knew she loved deeply them. I wanted to please her and win her approval. Over the years, Aunt Edith let me know that she liked my style too. I appreciate that she encouraged me and always welcomed me when we visited. In October 2009, my brother Tom joined us to visit with her in her home. She was as chipper and bright as she could be. I will cherish this memory forever more as a celebration of her as our aunt. Shortly after our visit, January 2010, my brother Tom died. He and all of the rest of her family and friends will welcome her home now and the rest of us will trust that she is with her beloved Jesus celebrating her new life. This faith comforts me and I hope you understand that your mom is treasured by many. May Aunt Edith rest in peace and may your hearts be comforted and healed by God’s grace and mercy. Amen. I regret that I cannot be with you and that I will not get to know her beloved great grandchildren. Sincerely, Cousin Nancy

Grammy was such a special lady. I am so lucky to have known her! She was full of life, very outgoing, had lots of hobbies, loved her family and made the most awesome noodles and always had the biggest selection of pies for Thansgiving dessert that I'd ever seen! We thankfully have so many memories with her to cherish. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.
Love you Grammy (aka GG!)
