Obituary of Francis L. Hirtz

Bedford – Francis L. Hirtz, 89, of Bedford, died at 5:20 am on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at his home.

Born August 25, 1928 in Campbell, MO, he was the son of John and Alice (Greene) Hirtz. He married Marcia May Adams on November 26, 1949 and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2011. He retired from Emperial Lumber. He was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.

Survivors include two daughters, Delores Jeanne Bowen and husband, Rick, of MO, and Janet Viner and husband, Steve, of Edmond, OK; seven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Freddie Hirtz, of Bedford and Charles Hirtz, of Lynchburg, VA; three sisters, Veronica Camp, of St. Louis, MO, Monica Stratman, Delores McMunn, of Tecumsa, OK; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hirtz, of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, John David and Joseph Allen Hirtz; five brothers, Donald, Jerome, Paul, Gregory, and Bill Hirtz.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 3^rd at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Dan Hirtz officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2^nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary where a rosary service will be conducted at 7:30 pm.
