Obituary of Mark E. Kern

Bedford – Mark E. Kern, 59, of Bedford, died at 5:43 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born September 19, 1957 in Bedford, he was the son of Louis “Corky” and Beverly S. (Walker) Kern. He was a 4-H Junior Leader, a board member of SICIL in Mitchell, a member of the Ham Radio Club, Hoosier Hills Food Bank, and the Community Baptist Fellowship Church.

Survivors include his parents, of Bedford; two sons, Andrew and Dylan Kern, both of Bedford; two sisters, Teresa Saunders, and Susan Gales and husband, Roger, all of Bedford; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Mary Walker and Moses and Elma Kern.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 29th at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bedford with Pastors Eric Kennedy, Shawn Green and Jordan Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
