Obituary of Benjamin Harrison Kidd

Springville Benjamin Harrison Kidd, 80, of 1470 Popcorn Road, Springville, died at 8:15 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at his residence. Born April 19, 1925 in Monticello, KY, he was the son of Walter and Lissie (Jones) Kidd. He married Zadie Foster on October 27, 1951 and she preceded him death on March 5, 1989. He then married Mary Elizabeth (Harp) Kidd. He was a retired stone quarry worker, carpenter and for the City of Bedford. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Springville. Surviving with his wife, Mary Elizabeth Kidd, two daughters, Helen Ford and her husband, Daniel, Hilda Gipson and her husband, James, both of Lawrence County, four sons, Harold Kidd of Bloomfield Herman and Homer Kidd, both of East Oolitic, Howard Kidd of Owensburg, three step-sons, Roger and Jeff Harp of Bloomington and Danny Harp of Florida, fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren, two brothers, Edgar Kidd of Guthrie, Chester Kidd, Somerset, KY, five sisters, Chloe Morrow, Bedford, Ora Keith, Eubank KY, Lillie Surber, Waynesburg, KY, Esmie Collins, Pulasky, KY. He was preceded in death by: two sisters, Flonie Kidd, Lola Hall and eight brothers, Lushen, Hulen and Hartman, Curtis, Wilburn, Albert and two in infancy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 13th at Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Roscoe Godsey, Jim Bowman and Chet Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Springville West Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 12th from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and from 9:00 am until the hour of the service at Day & Carter Mortuary.
