Obituary of Hobert C. Kidd

Springville Hobert C. Kidd, 80, of 18 Phillips Lane, Springville, went home to his final reward at 5:00 am on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at his residence. Born May 23, 1927 in Delta, KY, he was the son of Harley and Pearlie (Thompson) Kidd. He married Wilma Jean Meadows on August 14, 1952 and she preceded him in death. His many accomplishments in life included driving a truck for several firms. He also worked in the aluminum industry, was a timber harvester and retired from Indiana Limestone Co. in 1989. His hobbys were fishing and working in his woodshop. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Sue Smith and her husband, Billy of Celina, TN; two sons, Steven Kidd and his wife, Allison of Avoca and Terry Kidd and his wife, Terri Lynn of Oolitic; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Gola and Ernie Kidd both of Bedford; three sisters, Arie Rush of Bedford and Dottie Murphy and Wilma Kidd both of Seymour; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Dwight Raymond Kidd; five brothers and one sister. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 6th at the Grace Baptist Church with Roscoe Godsey officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Grace Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
