Obituary of Frank F. Hughes

Bedford – Frank F. Hughes, 88, of Bedford, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his residence.

Born September 27, 1928, he was the son of William R. and Goldie Mae (Van Deventer) Hughes. He married Dorothy Elvira Stewart on February 7, 1947 and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2015. He retired as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene and Operating Engineers Union #181. He was very active in his church and was a bee keeper.

Survivors include two sons, Samuel R. Hughes of San Antonio, TX and Frank Keith Hughes and wife, Susan, of Corinth, TX; two daughters, Darlene Hughes and Jeanette Foreman and husband, Keith, all of Bedford; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Jackie Lee Hughes; a great grandson, Ryan; four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 6th at the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Paul Whiteford and Rev. Carl Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, July 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
