Obituary of Loretta Keseric

Loretta Keseric of Ellettsville died April 22, 2014 at home. Born June 14, 1926 at Pueblo, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Lee Phillips and Ottie Mae (Thompson) Phillips. Her younger siblings are Mossi Marie, Goldie, Wendell, Hobart, Evalee, William, Joyce, Boyce, Zella Sue and Danny. She is survived by Ralph and his three children, Cynthia, Ross and Jeanne, all out of area; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving her are four brothers and sisters, Wendell, Joyce, Zella Sue, and Danny and many nieces and nephews. She received her elementary education at Gregory School, in Kentucky, and graduated from Gallileo H.S. in San Francisco, California. She received her Real Estate Management Diploma from Savoy School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was employed as a supervisor at Crane Naval Station during World War II, and when the war ended she was a partner in Halls Grocery in Crystal, Indiana until 1966. Then she proceeded to San Francisco, California where she managed a large fifty unti apartment complex for approximately 20 years, and then worked for The Welfare Dept., home Health Care Unit, for about five years. After that she returned to care of her aged mother, Ottie Mae Phillips at her home in Springville, Indiana. She also served as the first manager of Camelot Court in Mitchell, Indiana for a short period until she retired. She and Ralph traveled extensively on vacations to Europe and Africa. Visiting approximately ten nations in Europe and seeing the pyramids of Egypt and the great megalith images at Karnak. They walked the Via DeLorosa, the field of blood, as walked by Jesus to Golgatha. They traveled through many states and Hawaii metal detecting, which was one of their hobbies along with caring for animals and birds. She raised many birds, cats, parakeets, parrots, canaries, peacocks, and loved squirrels, deer and wild life, always caring for and providing food and grain. During her last days she assisted Ralph in teaching a Bible Study Class at White River Lodge in Bedford, Indiana which Ralph will continue to teach. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, April 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Alan Phillips officiating. Entombment will follow in Springville West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 27th and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
