This is a sad time. I feel almost as if I've lost my own dad. Hanford and Deloris treated me like one of their own when I visited Regina during and after our high school days. I am relieved that his suffering is over, but he sure is going to be missed. More kids need a dad and pap like him.

I didn't really know Hanford but his Great Grandfather, Andrew Jackson Hillenburg was my second Great Grandfather.
I remember my Mom and my Grandma Hillenburg talking about Hanford, but he was thirteen years older than I was so I didn't pay a great deal of attention. I think I remember seeing him at my Great Aunt Pearl & Uncle Roy (Howe's) but I'm not sure.
I am really sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my prayers. I'm sure I'm some level of cousin but don't have time to work out the exact relationship at the moment.
Leston Roosevelt Hillenburg was my Maternal Grandfather.

We have so many good memories of Hanford and our dad at the store. He would run a little bill and pay it off every week and daddy would tease him about not spending enough money with him and Hanford would always say, "But Cotton that is "Hard Ernt" money so it's worth more. They were two of a kind together.
