Your dad was a terrific guy, I am glad that he and my dad were close friends because their relationship provided me with a lot of great memories-he was fair, but stern and had a terrific sense of humor.
I apologize for not being able to attend the service as I am out of town...but here are a couple of fond memories.
My first trip to Crosley Field with our dads Reds and Cubs...I could not figure out for the life of me why the Cubs fans in our section kept pouring their cokes into their hard hat batting helmets and drinking through rubber hoses...only years later (I think we were about 8 Dean) did their actions from the 7th innning forward allow me to deduce I witnessed that day my first observation of what too many beers do to a person
Another great memory was when he used to take us to IU football games and we sat 50 yard line with the band for every game-especially the '67 Rose Bowl season-great memories...
I could go on, he will be missed-he was truly one of a kind.
My condolences.
